CHAPTER 2

Aditya dragged Dhriti, who was wearing a maroon lehenga with green emerald jewelry, alongside Ahana. They were the best friends of Sitara and stood in the crowd amidst the chaos that occurred at the wedding, their faces etched with fear and pain as they watched their friend being dragged away by their rival family. Yet, they stood helpless, unable to step forward to save her, knowing that either they would get into trouble or the situation would become even more complicated. Ahana and Dhriti, both 20 years old, were studying fashion designing with Sitara and were an inseparable trio since childhood. They stood like pillars in each other's lives, with Meera being like a mother figure who guided them. Ahana and Dhriti were cousins belonging to rich families but were down-to-earth. Dhriti had always loved Aditya, who had started liking her too. She was a beautiful and clever girl with all the qualities that no man could reject. However, the age gap between them was a barrier to their love. Aditya had preserved his love and thought to wait for the right time to confess, but Dhriti didn't know that Aditya had feelings for her too. Aditya dragged Dhriti to the mandap by holding her wrist, trembling with anger and rage, not knowing what he was doing. The guests were shocked by another twist. His father and mother stood there, watching the drama, not knowing what to say. Dhriti's body started to tremble with fear, and her black eyes began to shed tears as she wiggled in his grasp. "Adi! What are you doing? Please leave me; everyone is watching us! Have you lost your mind?" she yelled at him, swallowing the lump that formed in her throat. Her voice was filled with pain and disbelief. Aditya turned back, his eyes bloodshot with anger, his veins popping from his head, and his face stoic. He spoke coldly to Dhriti, "I don't care who is watching us because none will go outside the wedding venue. Whatever happens here, people will forget it here only. We are getting married. People don't know who is getting married; all they know is that the Oberai heirs are getting married. Meera eloped with that Gautham. My other sister was taken by our rivals. If this wedding stops, our reputation will get tarnished. Our name, fame, everything will be tarnished, so we both are getting married. Let the world know that Oberai heir Aditya Oberai got married yesterday." He then looked at the other guests, who were still shivering with fear, and said,

"Whatever has happened here, just forget it! If I repeat, any of you spit out this matter outside in public, then remember that it will be your last day on this earth. I will rip that person apart, including their soul." He dangerously roared at the guests, who nodded and turned towards dhriti, whose eyes went wide. She couldn't believe she loved a person like him. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and her body vigorously shivered. She was just 20, while he was 26. She didn't know what to do or how to react Her emotions died with the words he said. How could he marry her just for the sake of reputation? Wasn't she meant to be anything more to him? Maybe to him, she wasn't anything, but to her, he was her everything - her first love, first crush, first obsession. Was this what she deserved after loving him? Dhriti' s eyes turned red with rage, yet had tears, and she said, "MR. OBERAI, I'M NOT A TOY FOR YOU TO PLAY WITH AND USE FOR YOUR OWN BENEFITS. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO FORCE ME INTO MARRIAGE. WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE MY FATE? I REPEAT, I'M NOT GOING TO MARRY SOMEONE LIKE YOU, ESPECIALLY SOMEONE WHO TREATS ME LIKE A MERE TOY IN YOUR GAME. I'M NOT A PAWN IN YOUR GAME; I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. LEAVE ME RIGHT NOW!" She yelled at him, making everyone stunned. The Oberai family's mouths hung open in anger. Tanik was about to speak, but Aditya showed his palm, telling him not to react. Aditya's eyes darkened with anger as he glared at Dhriti, who was wiggling in his grasp. With another hand, he punched his chest and said in his cold voice, which carried zero emotions, "If you're not ready for the wedding, then you're going to witness a death." He smirked and screamed, "Guards! His bodyguards captured Ahana, pointing guns at her. Ahana was helpless, standing there trembling in fear, her eyes starting to glisten with tears. The guards rounded around her with guns. Dhriti saw her eyes widen, her mouth hanging open in shock, fresh tears making their way from her eyes. She looked at Aditya, who smirked and looked no less than a devil. Aditya again spoke, "Care to reject the marriage? You're going to witness her death." She shook her head in disbelief. She couldn't think of risking her best friend's life, her cousin's sister. She turned and slapped Aditya, which echoed in the whole hall. Tanik Oberai and Laila Oberai glared at her for her audacity for slapping their son in front of all. Aditya's eyes blazed with anger as he glared at her. Wasting no time, he threw her body over mandapam. Aditya said, "Start the marriage, Pandit Ji." The priest nodded his head and started chanting mantras. Carrying her on his shoulder, he did the pheras and made her sit next to him. He glared at her and said, "Move, and see, Dhriti, the next second, the bullets will be inside Ahana." Her heart ached with pain, fear, and disbelief. She had expected a fairytale wedding with her love of life. What she received was a forced marriage for the sake of reputation? She hated herself for loving him. For being helpless, she remembered her parents, who weren't her parents, and her body started to tremble with pain in her chest. Her cries got even harder. What future is held for her? Her career? Her life, everything? She looked at Ahana, who was on her knees and sobbing with pain, surrounded by guards with guns. She never imagined her life could take this turn. She couldn't even blame anyone else for this situation. Aditya, keeping a stoic demeanor, put Vermilion on her forehead, which fell on her nose. She glared at Aditya with her tearful, angry eyes, rubbed Vermilion on her nose, and whispered, "I hate you. I hate you, Aditya." His heart broke into a million pieces, aching with pain. He could feel the pain in her voice, still with an emotionless face, he whispered, "Feelings are mutual, Mrs. Aditya Oberai." She looked at him with disbelief. Aditya took the mangalsutra and tied it around her neck. Locking up her eyes with his, she said, "You broke me beyond repair, Aditya. I vow to hate you and make you regret this marriage and your whole existence. You deserve to be called a human, not a devil." His eyes became soft. His eyes started to tear up with her words. How does it feel if the love of your life says they hate you? His heart broke; he had always wanted a happy marriage, to be loved, but what had he done? He himself had made her hate him. He cursed himself, his whole existence. He was stuck between his love and his reputation. But right now, the seed was already sown. The damage, which should not have been done, was also done. Not letting his tears fall, hiding them, and he forcefully smirked and said, "I know I'm a devil! Very late realization, Mrs. Aditya Oberai! Remember, you are now stuck with me forever, and there is no going back." But his heart silently vowed to make her fall for him again, heal her, to make her realize he was also human, her human, but not a devil. He laughed at his fate. He remembered what his father said to him. He hated himself, cursed his destiny, fate, why everything was happening to him. Not only that, but his love of life was also suffering because of their family's deeds. She was nothing but an innocent pawn in the game of reputation. Their biggest mistake was loving each other. After the priest announced them as husband and wife, the guards left Ahana, who ran towards Dhriti and Aditya. She hugged Dhriti and turned towards Aditya with a tearful gaze, saying , "I hate you, bhai! I hate you! I wish you didn't deserve to be called a brother. You're a heartless monster. Today, neither are you my brother, nor am I your sister. The moment you forced Dhriti and pointed a gun at me, our relationship died in my opinion. You're dead to me." She bitterly spat at him, who sadly chuckled. But rolled his eyes and said, "Who cares?" Dhriti and Ahana looked at him with disgust. Aditya took Dhriti forcefully to his penthouse. Guests sighed in relief and ran to their homes to save their lives. Tanik smirked that his plan got successful, and nothing happened to his reputation. He returned to their mansion with his wife, who was shocked, sad, and in her dilemma.

IN CAR,

Evyansh handcuffed Sitara, who had been crying for a long time. Her whole face had turned red from the slaps she received from her parents. The pain, humiliation, and fear of being caught by her rivals haunted her. Her chest heaved with pain and sorrow. After dragging her from the wedding venue, he took her to his car and handcuffed her hands. He didn't even let his guards follow him. He was a heartless monster, a merciless, emotionless person who couldn't see her pain or her pleadings. If she wasn't his sister-in-law, he wouldn't have hesitated to empty his gun into her body. He hated cries and tried to control himself from shouting at her. He focused on driving, but Sitara's cries grew louder, and her pain intensified. She hiccuped, and Evyansh lost his temper. He stopped the car on the roadside, his dark grey eyes blazing with anger as he glared at her. He punched the steering wheel hard, showing his index finger towards her angrily. "Shut up! Stop your cries! Can't you see I'm driving?" He put his finger on his lips, dangerously glaring at her. "Shhhhh... Not a single sound should come from your side. If I hear a single sound from you, I won't mind sending bullets into your body." Sitara flinched at his sudden demeanor change. He looked like a psycho, and she feared for her life. Evyansh could see the fear in her eyes and took his gun from the dashboard, pointing it at her. He smirked, and Sitara's eyes went wide. Her cries reduced, and she trembled with fear. What if he shoots her? Sitara's jaw clenched with anger, and she yelled at him in a plain voice, "Why the hell did you kidnap me? What did I do to you? If you have a revenge deal, deal with my family, not me! Leave me right away!" Evyansh's face hardened with anger, his darkened eyes and clenched jaw making him look menacing. "Because of you, solely because of you, we are in trouble. Your fucking mistake created the whole chaos. Right now, let me deal with you; later, I will deal with your fucking family." Sitara's eyes widened in confusion. What mistake did she make? She barely knew him through her sister, and they had only met once. How could she have made a mistake that affected him? "What are you talking about, Mr. Raisinghania? I never met you! How did I even make a mistake? Care to tell me?" she argued with him. Evyansh pointed the gun at her waist, pushing it into her bare skin. Sitara's breath hitched, feeling the cold metallic body against her skin. If he pulled the trigger, the bullets would enter her bare waist. Her eyes went wide with fear and shock. Evyansh enjoyed torturing her. He was a heartless person who didn't care about anything and killed people mercilessly. His underground name was Rocky, a name that made people die with fear. But Sitara had the audacity to yell at Evyansh. Evyansh, "Talking too much, are we? Talk another word, and I won't mind shooting you. In fact, I feel like killing someone. I haven't killed anyone since morning, and my hands are itching to do that with you. Shall I? making your curvy waist into a shapeless waist! It will be fun?" He pushed the gun deeper into her bare waist, causing her more pain. She closed her eyes, and silent tears fell. Hearing his words made her heart stop. She was silent, leaning back, unable to move her hands due to the cuffs. Evyansh controlled himself, rubbed his face, and started the car. The rest of the ride was silent, with his left hand holding the gun towards her waist and changing gears when needed, and his right hand driving. After 40 minutes, they reached the city outskirts, He suddenly stopped the car near a temple. Sitara opened her eyes and noticed a temple. Her eyes widened in fear as she wondered, What if he marries me off? What is he actually going to do? What if he sells me to someone? Evyansh got out of the car with a gun in his hand and cuff keys. With a cold, stoic face, he walked towards her side and opened the doors. He harshly took her hands and used the keys to unlock the cuffs from her wrists, which were now red and sore. She started to rub her wrists to soothe the pain. But all of a sudden, Evyansh dragged her out of the car with a clenched jaw. Fear gripped her as she wondered what he was going to do. "Mr. Raisinghania, stop! What are you going to do? Leave me, I don't want anything," Sitara pleaded. He turned back and aimed the gun at her, saying, "This time, I won't talk, but I will use my gun as an answer." He dangerously roared at her, revealing his serious anger issues and lack of patience. As a woman, Sitara had saved herself from his deeds, and being his sister-in-law's sister made her a protected person. If something happened to her, his brother Gautham would beat him severely, and his bhabhi would become upset with him. Making them sad was like killing himself. Sitara pleaded with unshed tears, "Please," but he didn't listen and dragged her inside the temple. There, she saw something that made her feel both happy and sad at the same time.
